Grandpa Taggart's 79th B-day

July 20 was grandpa T's 79th birthday. We celebrated by having a little "tail gate" party in the church parking lot. Grandma is so funny and is always coming up with fun and different ways to celebrate. She thought a tail gate party would be so fun, so we backed all the cars up and went from trunk to trunk getting food. It was fun to see so many cousins and my kids had so much fun running around with all the kids. Unfortunately Adi got sick Sunday morning and wasn't able to come, we missed her and BJ!

My mom and her siblings that were there.

This is grandpa's cake. My cousin, Emily, made it she does such a good job and even managed to get 79 candles on it! It took about 5 or so of us to light all the candles and then grandpa and all the great grandkids to blow them out! It was so cute!!

I had to include this. You kind of had to be there to get it, but there was this dish that was shredded carrots with mayo and raisins all mixed together. Well it happened to be sitting next to the rolls so my brother, Jed, thought it was for the rolls and put it on. Why, I am not sure. Even not on a roll that does not sound good! Anyways it was pretty funny and we all got a good laugh from it! Kevin even got $3 for taking abite of it!! Oh, good times, I love my family!

Bear Lake 2008

Its that time of year again! Brayden has been asking for weeks when is it time to go to Bear Lake. My kids love Bear Lake and I love that they love it! I grew up going to Bear Lake all the time so it is so fun for me to watch my kids enjoy it as much as I do. We had so much fun! The kids are getting a little older now so the beach is funner and it is getting easier to go and spend time there. We had so much fun playing in the water! I was surprised at how much the kids loved being in the water. Adi got her first Bear Lake sunburn(everyone's gotta have one) I couldn't keep enough sunscreen on them. They loved playing in the sand, and it was a fun and relaxing time away!

Cousins at Bear Lake house

Friday when we were at the beach we didn't have enough beach toys, so I ran to the general store to get some. Jace insisted on going with me, so I put him in the car and off we went. When we got to the little general store I realized all he had on was his diaper and I couldn't take him in with just a diaper on, and his swim suit was back at the beach. All I had in the car was Adi's swim suit cover up, so he had to wear it, well I guess he liked it because when we got back to the beach he wouldn't take it off. Cute little boy, but not so much as a little girl!

They loved the whale!

Kyla and Adi playing in the water
Brayden having fun!
Nana and Jaca playing in the water

Kev and the kids playing in the water

After the beach Friday we had some down time till BJ, Jed, and Maegen got there so we headed over to the general store(again) to see what they had. We found a little bow and arrow set and boy did we have a few hours of fun with that thing! We set up targets at one end of the house and sat at the other and took turns trying to hit the targets, Oh it was so fun! We couldn't wait till everyone else got there to show them the fun, but since it was only $5 you can imagine how sturdy it was and it broke while Brayden was trying to shoot an arrow up to the beam on the ceiling. Oh well we'll get a better one for next time

It takes a lot of concentration

Next it was on to Guitar Hero!!
Nana and Jace batteling it out

Adi and Jace they needed a little help

Then it was time for a little ping pong and coloring!

Day #2 at the beach. We built sand castles, played frisbee & football, rode the whale. No bad sunburns today, except Kevin, but he was already purple from the day before.

Cookout up the canyon

A few weekends ago we went up American Fork Canyon and did dutchoven dinner with some friends. We made teriyaki chicken, and potatoes, and they made peach cobbler. Let me just say it was the best peach cobbler ever, I usually don't like peach cobbler, but it was so good and now I have a new cobbler recipe! While dinner was cooking BJ thought he would show off some skills and fished the river, the kids were impressed. Just as we were getting ready to eat dessert Jace and Derrick were running around the area and Derrick tripped and smacked his head on a rock! It was pretty bad so they headed down to the hospital and ended up with 5 stitches. Poor guy. Besides that we had a great time and it was fun to go up the canyon I havent' been up there for a long time.

Not really sure what she is doing?

My Birthday week and 4th of July

Instead of just celebrating birthday's we celebrate birthweeks! So this week was mine! The festivities started out Wednesday when my mother in law invited us over to grandpa's house for dinner. She made a yummy dinner and then cake and ice cream. It was a nice break to not have to cook or clean up dinner! Thursday after the kids woke up since it was my actual birthday we went and got donuts for breakfast! We were leaving after BJ got done with work to go to Brigham so we just stayed home till we had to go pick him up from work. Thanks to all my friends, family, and neighbors for remembering me and for the yummy treats, phone calls, letters, emails, texts, etc.. It totally made my day!! Once we got BJ we headed for BC, unfortunately since it was a holiday weekend the traffic was horrible, it took us about 2 1/2 hours to get from 7200 S in SL to my mom's! Once we got there my mom had ordered pizza and my sisters and brothers were there so we ate and had more cake and ice cream. It was a fun day/week and thanks again to everyone who helped make it so great!

Happy Birthday to me!

Cousins!!

Fighting over the slide

Friday was the 4th and we started out the day by cooking out on the grill a huge breakfast! We thought instead of having to be up and ready to be somewhere by 9 with all of us it would be easier to just do one ourselves. Everyone came over and we had a delicious breakfast. After breakfast we just hung out and let the kids play in the water. We always have a bbq at grandma's on the 4th and this year was no different. I love to go to grandma's and visit with my family I love them and always have a great time! After the bbq we headed back up to Brigham for fireworks. I realized that we actually havn't been to real fireworks for a couple years now. We either were driving home and would see some while driving or kids were too little or scared so it wasn't really worth it. This year we went and Jace was terrified, but he just coverd up in a blanket and went to sleep. Jed and Maegen live about 2 blocks from the park where they do fireworks and they let us go to their house to park and we just sat on their lawn and watched them. We didn't have to fight for parking or a place to sit and we could see them perfectly and then when it was over we didn't have to fight traffic either, it was perfect!! I forgot that I really do enjoy fireworks, and Brayden and Adi loved them!

Saturday was a bit busier. BJ went fishing(of course) and so I decided we were going to do something fun. So I took all 3 of the kids to Kung Fu Panda. The newspaper said the movie started at 12:10, so we get to the theater and it really didn't start till 12:35. Since we had over 30 minutes to kill we went over to Call's and got some food. While we were sitting there eating my brother Kevin called and since the movie hadn't started he decided to join us. Brayden and Adi loved the movie and Jace slept which was great because when the movie was over we went back to the house and changed and headed to the swimming pool. BJ was home from fishing so he came and we met Jed, Maegen, Haylee, and Kyla there and we swam for a few hours. The kids loved going down the big slide and Jed and Maegen were so great to take the kids and I pretty much just sat in the sun! It was a fun weekend and nice to do get away for a few days!

Bear World

We took a quick little trip up to Rexburg Idaho to Bear World! It was so much fun, the kids loved it and even BJ enjoyed it! My mom has been trying to get us to go there for years, but we never did and I am glad we finally did. We left Saturday morning and drove to Brigham picked up my parents and we were on our way. The drive wasn't that bad it is about a 2 1/2 hr drive. Once we got there we ate lunch at the pavilions there and then headed into the park. We saw tons of bears and some deer and moose and a wolf.
After our ride through the park we went back and did the rides and the petting zoo. They have about 5 small amusement park rides and you can ride them as many times as you want because they are included with your price you pay to getinto the park. I think the kids rode each one atleast 4 times, we spent a good portion of time there!
Adi & dad on the roller coaster
Riding the cars
The train
The grape ride, Adi said it tickled her head? I don't know!
Adi and Bray liked putting their hands up
Even Jace was pretty brave and he rode everything!
After we rode rides for awhile we went to the petting zoo part of the park. There were deer, goats, chicken, etc.. The kids fed the animals and Jace even tried getting on the deer for a ride!
The baby bear cubs

Jacey trying to ride the deer
BJ feeding the baby goat
After we went to the petting zoo we decided to take one last ride through the bear part of the park before heading back to our hotel. This time one of the bears crawled up on the back of the truck in front of us. It was pretty cool to see the bear up that close, we also got some pictures of them fighting and swatting at each other. It was a quick trip, but so much fun!!
