Friday my sister took the day off and we took my kids to the zoo. We had a pass and it expires this week, so we thought we would use it one last time. We knew it would probably be crowded with it being Friday, and the end of the school year, and we were right. When we pulled in the parking lot I was ready to turn around, but we went right in, and it really wasn't that bad. We only had to stand in line for about 15 minutes to see the white alligator, and that was the worst, everything else was not crowded at all. The kids were really good and we had a way fun time!
Aunt Bean, Jace, Brayden, and Adi, getting ready to ride the train.
How do we measure up?
After the zoo we were going to go to the mall and eat, but on our way to the mall we saw Olive Garden and since it is Brayden's favorite restaurant we decided to go there my sister wanted to treat him for his "graduation". Hi, can we say spoiled! Oh well it was fun and yummy anyways! After lunch we went to the mall to try and find Jace and Brayden outfits for my brothers wedding. We were successful!! I even found a dress for my niece, Kyla, for the wedding too.
Jace's little suit $8.47, Brayden's shirt and tie, $16.01, how cute they will look at the wedding, priceless!! (when we saw the tie we had to get it, it was just too perfect for him!!)

Preschool Graduation
Last Thursday was Brayden's last day of preschool. He was glad to be done. He was getting bored with it and is so ready for kindergarten! They got little graduation hats and they got to throw them up at the end. Brayden's blew off before that so he actually didn't get tot throw his. They sang a few songs and then did a short little program where everyone had a part, it was cute. When Miss Lacey presented them with their certificates she said a little thing about them, and I bet you can guess what she said about Brayden. She said he brought the love of animals into the classroom, and at times there were eight little elephants in the room because he taught them all how to make elephant noises! I wonder when he will out grow that? I still can't believe he is going to be going to kindergarten!!!
My little graduate and Miss Lacey!
Brayden saying his part in the program. He was so nervous(that is why we have one t-rex arm going on!)

Mother's Day weekend
Well nothing too eventful happened it was basically just another weekend. Friday night I invited BJ's parents over for dinner for Mother's Day and as a surprise I also invited BJ's brothers, they were both able to come, so that made a nice Mother's Day present for Patty. I cooked dutch oven for the first time and it turned out pretty good. We had chicken, potatoes, and peach cobbler. I have never even started a fire or coals before, but I had to since BJ wouldn't get home till 6 and it takes an hour to cook. But I did it and it is so nice to have the fire pit to cook and do all that in! While his brother was here he helped BJ plan out the sprinkling system so that was nice(thanks Mike). Then Saturday I wanted BJ to work in the yard, but he went fishing instead and said he needed to do some shopping too. I think it was just an excuse to go fishing!! Brayden had a primary activity in the morning and later that afternoon Julianne and I planted our gardens! I am so excited! I just hope and pray something will grow in my garden!! I planted green beans, corn on the cob, green peppers, potatoes, zucchine(sp), cucumbers, squash, and watermelon. You would think with all that something will grow. I sure hope so!! Then Sunday after church we went up to Grandma Bus' for dinner. We plan to put the sprinklers and sod and finish up the yard over the next few weeks so it was nice to have a slow weekend.

Cheerleading Showcase
Last night was Adi's cheerleading showcase. After Tuesday-Wednesday's incident I wasn't sure she would be able to perform, but the dr said as long as she didn't do any somersaults(sp) or tumbling she was ok to perform, and boy was I glad she did!! It was the cutest thing ever. I totally tought she would be shy and possibly not even go on stage and oh I couldn't have been more wrong!!!
She did so good. She did all the cheers, and the dance. She was so loud we could even hear her in the back. On the camcorder you can even hear her! I was such the proud momma! She just grinned her little head off the whole time. When they do some of the cheers they bounce and she was so into it she wasn't paying attention to where she was bouncing. I about had a heart attack when she did that because she got so close to the edge of the stage. I was just about to have my brother go up there when one of the teachers saw and went over and stood in front of her. It was so funny!!
Brayden got a little bored towards the end so he started taking pictures of things, including himself! Why didn't his turn out blurry?

Skull Fracture
The past 24 hours have been quite traumatic at our house. It all started Tuesday evening about 5:30. I was in the back yard and Brayden came running around and said Adi fell off the four wheeler. Now this isn't a big people four wheeler it is a power wheels one, and it has a trailer attached to the back where you can pull someone or something. We think Adi was either trying to get in or get out and Brayden didn't see her and started going and it flipped her out. Anyways I go around to the front of the house and Adi is just lying on the side walk. She wasn't screaming really loud, just crying and there was no blood so I got her up and I assumed she was ok. I took her in the house and put her on the couch with a movie so I could finish making dinner. I figured she would go to sleep since she had not taken a nap, and she did. When BJ got home from work, about 6, he tried waking her up so she would still go to bed at a reasonable hour. When he woke her up she was just screaming that her head hurt, so we let her go back to sleep, still thinking she just bumped her head. Well during dinner she woke up and threw up then went right back to sleep. She continued to do this till about 8, and we figured something was wrong. I figured probably just a concussion and they don't do anything for them at the ER anyways so we debated taking her. I went and looked at her again and she looked awful. She was so pale and a little green looking so we decided it was worth taking her to the hospital. So my wonderful neighbor, Julianne, came over to sit with my boys. We took her to American Fork hospital and since she had thrown up about 7 times at this point they decided to do a CT scan. Turns out she had an ocsipital(sp) linear fracture. The ER dr,and our doctor thought she should stay overnight for observation because she wasn't really waking up. So they checked with the pediatricians at the hospital and called primary children's hospital and they both thought it best if we take her to primary's since there is no neuro surgeon at the AF hospital and if there were complications she would have to go to primary's anyway. They said we could take her ourselves rather then in the ambulance since it woudl be faster, so we headed up to Primary's. We got there about midnight and she was still throwing up. We had to go through the regular emergency room, even though they knew we were coming, and it was about 4:30 until we got to our room. Adi was still throwing up and the dr told us he wouldn't let us go home till she stopped throwing up and ate something. Well she ate something, but couldn't keep it down. So about 1 the next afternoon they had to start an iv and they gave her zofran for the nausea. They said it would take about 8 hours for the zofran to wear off and if after that she had stopped vomitting we could probably go home. So about 8pm we got her some food and she ate half a piece of french toast and at 9 when they came to check on her she had kept it down and he asked her if she wanted to go home and she quickly answered YES! So he made her walk around and asked her some questions, but she did so good he said we could go home, but that if she started to vomit or loose speech or anything we had to bring her back. I guess because she was vomitting so much he was afraid that she had started to bleed and that the CT scan hadn't caught it because it was taken right after the injury. We got home about 10 pm and she was so happy to be home. Her brothers had tried to stay awake and wait for her, but they fell asleep. Julianne had brought her over a baloon and a dress and that made her day she was so excited. She immediately put the dress on, when she did that I knew she was fine and back to her normal self! She hasn't thrown up since and is acting and talking normal. We are so lucky it wasn't anything worse and that she is ok and going to make a full recovery. The lesson here tho is ALWAYS wear a helmet. I was so bad at making my kids wear them. I would make Brayden when he was on his bike, but I never did when they rode the four wheeler, but now they will!! That was just too scary not to!
