Bear Lake (again) 2009

We always do our annual Bear Lake trip with all my siblings and this year was no different. This was our third time being up to Bear Lake this year. I love taking my kids up there it was a place I always went as a child, so I love to take my kids up there and making memories. This time was a little different as Brayden is getting older and involved in more things it is tying us to home more. Since he is playing football this year he had a practice Thursday that he insisted on not missing and then he had to pick up his equipment Friday so Brayden, BJ and I were not able to go up til Friday night. Since my mom was going up Thursday she offered to take Jace and Adi with her so they could have an extra day and play with cousins. They had fun, but it was nice to all be reunited Friday night and spend the rest of the weekend together. We always play bad mitten in the living room. It has sort of become a tradition and a fun one I might add! Brayden is even getting pretty good at it!

Brayden's baseball

Brayden is playing baseball again this year. We are finally done with t-ball and onto coach pitch, but I am not sure it is any better. He is enjoying it anyways and we do enjoy watching him play sports!

Jaceisms

So Jace is at the stage in life where he keeps us laughing and entertained. He is a little stinker but here are a few things he does or said recently I just had to document.

Rhino Finger-You may not know this but according to Jace when you have a fingernail that is ripped it is called a rhino finger. We were driving in the car one day and he got all excited and said mom look I have a rhino finger I had no idea what he was talking about and when we stopped he showed me his torn fingernail. So strange!!

The other day Adi and her friend Rhylan were talking about what they wanted to be when they grew up apparently they both want to be the United States of America, good luck girls! Anyways Jace pipes in and says "When I get big I am going to move to New York City and be a zebra like Marty!!" Oh I could have died laughing!! Good luck with that one too Jace! Oh my kids have such ambition!!

Gateway

We decided to do something a little different for a day and headed up to Salt Lake to the Gateway to let the kids play in the fountains. They loved playing in the water and being able to just run around. There were some "princesses" as Adi called them they were miss, teen miss, and mrs, from different pageants there and it was kinda strange, but Adi thought it was great. She got pictures of them with their "autographs" on them and even her picture taken with one. The kids had alto of fun and it was fun to switch things up a bit!

Grandma & Grandpa Bus(Taggart) 80th Birthday!

We celebrated grandma and grandpa's 80th birthday on Monday with a huge celebration at the park. All of their children, grandchildren(except 4), great grandchildren, and brothers and sisters were there. It was so wonderful to all be gathered together again to celebrate 2 amazing people!! Some of my cousins I hadn't seen in years(sad), but it was fun to see everyone and their cute little families. My aunt Becky did an amazing job at putting together the party and the wonderful little program. All the grandkids had to find out what was going on in the world when grandma and grandpa were they age they are now, so since I am 30(again, sad) I had to find out what was happening in 1959, because they were 30 in 1959. Oh it was fun and entertaining and I even learned things I didn't know! Then my uncle Keith put together a wonderful slide show of grandma and grandpa through the years, it was so wonderful to see pictures and do remember when's. My grandparents are 2 of the most amazing people I know, They have raised 6 wonderful children who have all raised amazing families, who are all now raising amazing families. I am so privileged be a part of this family and part of their legacy. They are the best examples and I love them so much! They have taught me so much and have such great traditions I hope to carry on with my family! Thanks grandma and grandpa for everything, we love you so much!!!!

They even had a pinata for all the great grandchildren
Jace taking his swings at it
Brayden waiting his turn. Unfortuantely since he is one of the older ones he didn't get a turn to hit it. I think he is the 4th great grandkid on the Taggart side
After the pinata broke or fell and was dumped out, kids all over!!

Fourth of July weekend

First of all I am so excited to be back and blogging again..I have not had a camera for the past 6 months, well I have had my moms so once I get the connector I will be playing catch up, but I finally got a new one for my birthday(thanks Beej!)so I will just start with now with what I have!

This year we decided to go to Bear lake for the Fourth of July. We took our friends the Manookin's with us and we had such a good time. It was so nice to have friends for the kids to play with so the adults could kinda relax and enjoy the vacation too! The weather didn't cooperate exactly like I wanted but we still did everything we planned to do. Rode the bike limo, spent the fourth at the beach with jet skis, even entertained ourselves by throwing kids in the air with a blanket!. We had fun and got sunburned so I call it a success!! We tried to go to fireworks at the park on the fourth, but either we were impatient and they started them way late, or we couldn't see them from the park we went to, not sure which, but next time we will plan it better and go to the ones in Montpelier. It was fun weekend and fun to get away and play with friends!

Bike limo! What a workout is all I have to say!

Sometimes it was easier to have Brayden or Carsen steer and we would push from behind!
